Dodge pickup, driven by Lynn Dale Hiatt, was driving westbound on I-84. It took the 188 exit but didn't negotiate the turn safely onto US 385 N. The pickup drove across the southbound lanes of US 395 and hit the left rear of a tractor-trailer. The truck was operated by Andrei Ceban. Hiatt died at the scene. His wife, Remedios Hiatt, 76, suffered serious injuries.
